etroit continues to grow as a hub for creativity, innovation, and design, and I had the opportunity to document an incredible two day experience that brought together some of the biggest names in the industry. The ICON360 x PLC Detroit Design Summit was a celebration of creativity, mentorship, and career development, hosted at Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design in Detroit, Michigan.
As a Detroit corporate event photographer, my goal is always to capture more than just what happens on stage. I focus on documenting the energy of the room, meaningful connections, behind the scenes moments, and the experiences that make each event unique.
About the ICON360 x PLC Detroit Design Summit
The ICON360 x PLC Detroit Design Summit brought together students, designers, industry professionals, recruiters, and creative leaders for two inspiring days focused on the future of design and opportunities within the industry.
Hosted at PLC Detroit, the summit featured conversations surrounding design careers, mentorship, portfolio development, brand creation, and pathways into the creative industry. Attendees had the opportunity to learn directly from professionals and leaders representing some of the most influential brands in fashion, footwear, retail, and design.
The event featured sponsors and partners including Nike, Nordstrom, Foot Locker, PepsiCo, American Eagle Outfitters, Stanley 1913, ICON360, and the Fashion Scholarship Fund.
Capturing Industry Leaders and Creative Conversations
Throughout the summit, I photographed keynote conversations, educational sessions, networking opportunities, and moments between attendees and speakers.
From career discussions with Nike design and recruiting teams to conversations with influential creatives, every session highlighted the importance of mentorship and creating opportunities for the next generation of designers.
Some of the memorable moments included conversations featuring leaders such as Ruth E. Carter, Wilson Smith III, and April Walker, where attendees gained insight into creativity, storytelling, brand building, and careers within the design industry.
