When Did you start photography?

Hi, I’m Afsana also known as Jen, the photographer and creative behind Jena B Photography. I’m a Michigan and New York City based photographer specializing in editorial inspired portraits, fashion photography, creative storytelling, couples, lifestyle imagery, and event coverage throughout Detroit, Ann Arbor, Birmingham, and beyond.

Ever since I was 12 years old, I’ve been passionate about photography and the arts. What started with taking photos on my Android phone and teaching myself photography through YouTube quickly turned into a deep love for visual storytelling and creating meaningful connections through imagery.

Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to learning, growing, and developing a cinematic and editorial inspired style that feels both authentic and timeless. My goal is to create photographs that not only look beautiful, but also make people feel confident, seen, and connected to their story.
